The Office of the Dean, Industry, Training & Placement (ITP) serves as DIAT’s central hub for industry engagement, student training, placements, and professional education. The office works at the intersection of academia and industry, ensuring that students are well-prepared for careers in defence, R&D organizations, PSUs, and high-technology sectors while also supporting the institute’s collaborations and specialized training programmes.

Following are some key activities of this office:

1. Industry Interaction & Placement

The Industry Interaction & Placement Cell manages the complete placement lifecycle for both online and offline recruitment drives involving nearly 1000 students annually. The cell works closely with industry partners to ensure a seamless and professional recruitment experience.

Key functions include:

• Coordinating with companies for campus placements and internship opportunities
• Organizing pre-placement training sessions, aptitude preparation, and technical skill enhancement
• Managing eligibility verification, scheduling, and recruitment logistics
• Conducting coding tests, online assessments, technical interviews, and HR interactions
• Real-time coordination with recruiters during placement drives
• Announcing results, documentation support, and guiding selected candidates
• Providing verified placement data for NIRF, AISHE, NBA, AICTE, and other statutory bodies
• Maintaining detailed placement records for continuous quality improvement
• Planning and organizing Industry Meets to strengthen institute–industry partnerships

2. Online & Blended Learning Programmes

The office manages DIAT’s online and hybrid training initiatives through the LMS platform, supporting national-level capacity building in advanced technology domains.

Major responsibilities include:

• Designing course structures and uploading learning resources
• Scheduling live classes and managing course delivery
• Student enrolment support, technical assistance, and LMS coordination
• Ensuring academic quality, assessments, and certification

3. Customized Industry-Focused Courses

DIAT offers specialized training programmes tailored to the needs of defence and strategic sector organizations. The Office of Dean ITP supports planning, coordination, and end-to-end management of these customized courses.
