The outreach and visibility of any institute is dependent upon the connections which an institute makes outside its own boundaries.
DIAT has made excellent connections with various institutions within India and overseas.
For multiple short term and long-term customized courses, extremely highly placed defence PSUs have tied up with DIAT. HAL, BDL, Brahmos, BEL, SETS, CSIR-CSIO are few examples.
For various Double – Degree and Joint-Degree programs, DIAT has tied up with Cranfield University in UK, George Mason University, USA and Daikin University, Australia.
The above institutes will also participate in Joint PhD Supervision of the students. This will also be done at the national level as an expansion of the current association with HBNI and CSIO-CSIR.
DIAT is in discussion with Pennsylvania State University, USA.
Customized courses, as required by DRDO, HAL, CEMILAC and so on, are also planned and are being executed in DIAT under the existing MoUs with these agencies and agencies abroad.
DIAT has working MoUs with friendly countries for training their army officers in DIAT.
DIAT plans to expand this horizon to a large extent so that it becomes one of the central nodal agencies for DRDO officers to get trained in various areas of strategic importance via imparting them such customized course through MoUs with different agencies who can offer training. DIATs own faculty knowledge base will be used as well for such programs.
Along with an MoU with INS, Hamla, DIAT is putting efforts to collaborate with other defence institutes from Army – Navy and Air Force to contribute more towards their efforts in defence education, training and research.
