AeospaceThe Department of Aerospace Engineering (earlier known as The Faculty of Guided Missiles) was established in 1960 with a mission to impart knowledge to Scientists and Officers of the Armed Forces to take up the challenges in design, development and use of guided missiles. The department is engaged in teaching and research in broad area of Aerospace Engineering with a stress on Missile Technology. The department endeavours to produce quality students, undertake project/consultancy work, conduct seminars, symposia and workshops, update knowledge of working scientists/defence officers through continuing education/short term programs, tailor-made courses and conduct/guide quality research work to meet the mission of DIAT (DU). Currently, the department offers M.Tech. (Aerospace Engineering) (Guided Missiles), M.Tech. (Aerospace Engineering) (Air Armament) and Ph.D. program. Apart from the degree programs, the department also conducts regularly a number of short term courses for DRDO, Armed Forces and other organizations and also conducts tailor-made courses as per the requirements of the users.
